Sinopsis
: the book talks about the role of corrective feedbacks on the spoken
language in the beginner level. This level can be categorized as students who
are in the random stage and emergent. This students is random stage are
experimenting whit the language and are making inaccrurate
guesses. Their previous knowledge of the rule in question is not
adequate to create a hypothesis about the rule. Students is emergent stage is
when the student had begun to internalize certain rules, even the are not
necessarily correct in the target language. At this stage many students, even
though they have understood the rule, seem to go back to a previous stage, and
are for this reason unable to identify their errors (Brown, 1987) in ferm
(2009).As are result, corrective feedback is needed in the beginner level. The
types of corrective feedback that can be used is spoken language are explicit
correction, metalinguistic clues,
clarification request, recast, elicitation, and repetition (Lister anl Ranta,
1997) explicit correction, recast, and metalinguistic clues are frequently used by
lecturer.Explicit correction had a good rate of correct students’reformulations,
but due to the form of feedback, the correct forms were always generated by
lecturer, rather than the student. Although metalinguistic clues had a lower rate of
uptake overall, a similar proportion of the attempted reformulation were correct
students-generated repair explicit correction, recast, and clarification were
most commonly sed, metalinguistic clues and elicitation were mostly effective
at eliciting up take, and repetition often co-occurred whit explicit correction.
